It seems that Android 5.0 Lollipop contains a rather strange but also rather serious bug. If you happen to be running Lollipop and your system language is set to French Canadian you are currently likely to be plagued with SystemUI crashes! The issue does not seem to effect all devices, but for those who it does: know that Google is aware of it the issue and a fix should be coming soon.
If you are reading this as a French Canadian experiencing SystemUI crashes hold on tight for a fix and in the meantime consider switching your system language. I presume since most are bilingual that English US would be a possible temporary substitute until a fix does arrive.
You can track the status of this issue on the AOSP issue tracker on Google Code (see the source link).
If you are French Canadian and were not turned away from this post by our use of the silly “French Canada” image from South Park, we would be interested in hear from you as to whether or not you are suffering such issues so do let us know in the comments either way. We hope that Google is prompt on issuing a fix for this!
