MWC has truly kicked off now with what feels like a new product launch every five minutes. The latest announcement comes from Sony as they unveil a new addition to the Xperia family. The new Z4 tablet looks like it could well be a true showstopper with some impressive specs and a beautiful design.

Sony say that it has the brightest screen on the market and from the spec sheet there’s a good chance that’s the truth. The Z4 Tablet has a 10.1 inch QHD display. That makes it one of the highest resolution screens found in a mobile device. That should make media consumption an absolutely joy, so for those of you that are Netflix addicts this could be the tablet for you.

Memory wise the Z4 Tablet comes with 32GB of built-in storage and a memory card slot that can expand the storage by a further 128GB, so you shouldn’t have any problems with storing QHD video and games. While we’re on the subject of gaming, Sony have built some nice tricks into this tablet. It’s PS4 compatible, enabling you to play your favourite PS4 games on the go. Provided you have a PS4 this is something you’re going to enjoy using.

As for build, the Z4 Tablet looks like all the other devices in the range. A beautiful metal frame with glass front and back. It’s also IP68 rated so you don’t need to worry about getting it wet. In fact according to Sony, if the Z4 Tablet gets dirty all you need to is wash it under the tap. That’s certainly reassuring.

Under the hood we find the Snapdragon 810 Octa-Core 64-bit CPU running the show with 3GB of RAM keeping the latest version of Android Lollipop 5.0 running nice smooth. On paper that makes this one of the most powerful devices on the market. Despite the beastly spec sheet Sony say that the 6,000Mah battery will keep the Z4 Tablet going for 17 hours of video playback. Time will tell whether these claims are correct, but if they are then this really will be one of the best tablets on the market.

Are you excited for Sony’s new tablet? Would you buy one yourself or has another tablet caught your interested more? Let us know in the comments.
