Vodafone has been busy this week – confirming all the Android rumours it would appear! First they announced the Xperia Play and now they have announced they will exclusively carry the white version of the Nexus S. They will also be the first European carrier to sell the Nexus S directly. It should be available in all of the 24 countries they operate in but it is due for the UK first. Release dates and prices are still unknown.
It is interesting that Vodafone should be the chosen carrier to have exclusive rights to sell this phone as they also were only the only European network to carry Google’s first baby the Nexus One as well.
Personally, while I still prefer the N1 and am not a massive fan of the Nexus S, I do think I prefer this in white to the original all-black version of the Nexus S as the plastic just looks less cheap somehow. Still, the appearance of back of the Nexus S has never been the issue for me….it’s the Nokia-like appearance of the front and the lack of innovation that lets this phone down. There is little of the bar-setting tech and draw-dropping specs that made the Original Nexus so special.
Nevertheless, it is an interesting proposition (and I do wonder if this move had anything to do with the demand for a white version of the iPhone 4!?)
So, are any of you interested in Google’s new phone in white?
