Personally I am incredibly exited about the release of the Nexus 3 later this year. The rumours keep flooding in and it just further embodies my obsession.
So far they point to an LG-made device with a Tegra 3 quad-core processor running the next generation of android: Ice cream sandwich.
However we now have some new news. The guys at Unwired View uncovered an XML file that mentions an Android phone codenamed “LG P930″. This could well be the Nexus 3 but whether it is or not the interesting news is that the LG P930 will feature a 720×1280 resolution display. Of course whether or not this is the Nexus 3 it pretty much confirms that the Nexus 3 will have a screen of that resolution.
Coincidently Toshiba just came out with a 4-inch display that has a 720×1280 resolution. At a whopping 367ppi, the screen blows right past Apple’s Retina Display. It would also be a slightly higher density than your eye can physically see (unlike Apple’s retina display) and so it would appear perfectly crisp.
So there you have it. Another spec almost certainly uncovered from the upcoming hyperphone. The Nexus 3 should ship with an iPhone-bashing 367ppi 4.0 inch screen quite likely manufactured by Toshiba.
If all the rumoured specs prove true then the Nexus 3 will be the phone to beat and will be a true successor to the Nexus one.
