During the I/O keynote yesterday Google unveiled the new visual style for Android L with a design philosophy known as “material design”. It looks absolutely beautiful and heavily involves cards (ala Google Now) and a new colour scheme. It appears Google intends to leave no part of the Android design untouched and in the Fireside chat last night they said that they intend to make stronger efforts to ensure all their own apps follow the design guidelines and look consistent so as to provide a good example for other developers. It is important to remember that these are still previews and may not be completely final so do not be surprised if these change slightly before the full L release. With that in mind, let’s take a look at what we’ve got…
