Instagram 6.0
That’s right everyone! Instagram 6.0 is now heading to the Google Play Store! Android users received Instagram’s refreshed UI earlier on in the year, but failed to receive many of the editing tools that are available on the iOS version of the app. Today however that changes.

Here is the list of new features and improvements in the update:

Improved Features

  • Rotation
  • Borders
  • Blur / Tilt Shift
  • Cropping
  • Lux
  • Straightening

New Adjustments

  • Vignette
  • Sharpness
  • Filter strength
  • Brightness
  • Contrast
  • Saturation
  • Highlights
  • Shadows
  • Warmth

The app has only just been submitted so if it doesn’t show for you at the moment, don’t fret because apps can sometimes take a while to propagate in the Play Store.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Instagram, it is a social network centred around sharing your life through photos, and more recently short videos. Instagram were acquired by Facebook sometime in 2012.

The app was originally an iOS exclusive, and earned the reputation of being something only “hipsters” used. More recently however, the app has become more popular with the general smartphone audience.

If you would like to try it you can download it from the Google Play Store using the widget below.
