Google has been updating all of their first-party apps one by one to their new “material design” style recently in readiness for the Android 5.0 (“L”) release. We’ve seen Google+, Chrome, Play Store and Play Newsstand get the update already but there are still quite a few to go. As it turns out, since the last Play Store update which brought a full material design look, pressing the title of the “My Library” widget (part of the Play Store app) shows the new icons for all the Google Play apps with the new material design style. Previously the Holo icons were shown. What’s significant about this is that Play Music, Play Books and Play Movies & TV are all yet to get their material-makeover updates so this is actually our first official look at what is almost certainly the finalised material design icons for these apps. We expect to see updates which use these icons very soon! We know you like to theme and style your devices and many have been aiming to create the perfect Android L look on their devices so we’ve extracted these icons so that you may use them with your custom launchers etc.
