Not Dead Yet: Nexus 5 Restocked On Google Play In Many Countries

It looks like the Nexus 5 (although only the black version) is staying around a little longer after all. Google has restocked the device on Google Play in several different countries including the US and the UK after several weeks of being completely sold out.

We are glad to see it stick around, it is always good to have options and the Nexus 5 still an incredibly capable device and runs exact same software as it’s bigger brother the Nexus 6.

However, if you are interested in buying one, it might be worth checking out a few other online stores first (e.g. Amazon) or perhaps even consider getting a used or refurbished model through somewhere like eBay, Gumtree or Swappa as you can potentially save yourself quite a big chunk of cash (and get a different colour if you prefer).

If you do order through Google Play though it will set you back £299/£339 (16GB/32GB) in the UK or $349/$399 for folks the other side of the pond (elsewhere pricing and availability may vary). For that you can expect to have a shiny new Nexus 5 at your door in just 1-2 days and you get the benefit of a full 12 months warranty with the option of contacting Google in addition to LG if something ever goes wrong with the device.

We have no idea how long this will last but if you want a new Nexus phone and the Nexus 6 is too big or too expensive for you then the Nexus 5 is still a solid choice.
