Why You Should Not Get An HTC Tablet!

Okay so your probably wondering why I would suggest people don’t get a tablet from one of my most recommended manufactures. After all, HTC make nice hardware and they are a nice company – plus you probably thinking “Charlie your phone is HTC made for Christ sake – what gives!?”

But….there is one very good reason for me to object to HTC tablets:

YUK! You see that? Yep that’s actually supposedly honeycomb! Now look, even though I am against OEM’s customising Android at all – sense has been the one I could tolerate. However, I draw the line here.

Sense is starting to make Android versions indistinguishable and showing little improvement with each version. This could damage the Android platform and cannot continue. Also THIS IS NOT A TABLET UI! Honeycomb was designed ground up with tablet use in mind and it works very well. This though – is a mess. What this is, is an over-sized phone orientated UI – very similar to what’s on the HTC phones. If you wanted that you could always stroll down the Apple store and pick up one of those massive iPod-touch’s they are selling!

I strongly advise not buying any HTC tablet until they drop Sense. Hopefully the rumours and leaks prove wrong and HTC will release a much more stock Honeycomb look on their next tablet but unfortunately I feel this stupidity may be for real!
