Developers, developers, developers, developers! We have the news you’ve been after since yesterday when Google announced they would be releasing today: the full Wear SDK and the Android “L” Preview SDK. Both are now ready for downloading so you can starting poking around with Android’s latest and greatest!

The Wear SDK was already released as a preview a few months ago, but now we have the full thing with all the resources you’ll need to start developing for the Gear Live, G Watch, and Moto 360. You can grab both from the SDK manager right now!

Note for non-devs: No this does not mean you can have Android L on your device. The SDK is a toolkit for building apps not for building ROMs or flashing on your device. Nexus factory images should be coming soon to test but the source code (which is needed to port it properly to other devices) we still don’t have a release date for (likely a few months away).

Please don’t pester developers for a ROM for your device! Just sit tight and be excited. We will be sharing some tweaks to help you get an Android L like experience on your KitKat or Jelly Bean device very soon to keep you going until the full release!
