Today at IFA Sony announced their latest flagship phone the Xperia Z3 along with a smaller version called the Xperia Z3 Compact and a matching Xperia Z3 tablet Compact.

All the devices have essentially the same design (bar the size and colour choices) but there are some differences in the internals and the pricing. The Z3 is available to pre-order in the UK for a price of £549, the Z3 Compact for £429 and the Z3 Tablet Compact comes in at £329.

They all feature the Snapdragon 801 SoC with the Adreno 330 GPU and a CPU clock of 2.5GHz so these devices can all be considered pretty top end and should be great for gaming. Although if powering through the greatest Android games with ease isn’t enough, then Sony has announced that they will support remote play of PS4 games with the help of mounts for each of the device which clips them to a DualShock 4 as seen below.

Xperia Z2 Dualshock 4 Mount For Remote PlayIf this concept takes off we could be looking at a major breakthrough in mobile gaming. This would allow the playing full AAA titles on the go at graphics levels no mobile device at this time could hope it match. This may prove to be a major selling point for some users.
