Okay, we’re confused. Our calendars here at Little Green Dude are showing Monday, not update Wednesday and yet here we are, an update to Google Play Music (version 5.6).
Unfortunately this is not yet the update with the new “material design” it’s still your more traditional case of HOLO-YOLO. It does however feature some quite noteworthy changes and improvements so here’s the list…
What’s New
- New UI for account switching
- Support For casting to Android TV
- Cheapcast compatibility is now broken
- Device authorisation limited to just 5 phones (but still 10 devices overall)
- Toggle between all music and offline only now in the navigation bar
- New UI for download queue
Not huge changes by any means but still pretty handy. The biggest change is probably to device authorisations but it should not have too much impact on most people. Hopefully we’ll see that new version they showed at I/O shortly. In the meantime if you wish to enjoy this new update without waiting for Google Play to update it on your device we have the download right here.
